About

Ariel Skye brings her magnetic voice and cinematic storytelling to Indie Rock with sonic one-night stands. Pulling inspiration from the jazz and rock-and-roll traditions she was raised with, Ariel often draws comparisons to Joni Mitchell’s craft, Bonnie Raitt’s soul, and Stevie Nicks’s grit. Ariel began writing music in 2019, which lent the lyrical heart to folk-inspired EP Open Spaces and stormy single Hurricane. She frequently collaborates with artists across many genres, most notably Jim Stephens, Big Sam's Funky Nation, and Shaun Martin on New Orleans blues album Yellow River, and E-Hos on rap album UnderEstimated3. Ariel has performed her work throughout Philadelphia, New York, and Los Angeles, capturing the attention of people who relate to the vulnerability and longing her music encapsulates. Ariel's new work explores the sharper and darker edges of these stories. Here, lust can turn to obsession, and romance becomes intertwined with money, power, and addiction. Her 2022 EP Meanstreak offers this shared catharsis.
